What Is KJAH Reggae Radio?
KJAH is an internet radio station that broadcasts roots reggae 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. KJAH has a worldwide listening audience, and consistently ranks in the top 10 of the live365.com airplay charts in the categories of both reggae and dub.
Is KJAH free?
Yes, KJAH is free. KJAH is part of the live365.com internet radio network, and basic listening is free for all stations that pay a monthly artist royalty fee. KJAH pays these fees in support of the artists and musicians in its playlists, and to allow listeners to tune in free of charge.
Why should I become a KJAH VIP listener?
Live365 has introduced a cap on the number of listeners that can listen to the station at any one time. How do I listen to KJAH?

Why does KJAH stream at 32kbps, instead of higher quality 64kbps or MP3-PRO?
There are several reasons why KJAH broadcasts at 32kbps. One of these is cost. KJAH pays a monthly fee based on the amount of server space it uses, and the higher the sound quality of the encoded song, the larger the file. This means that if KJAH were to broadcast at 64kbps, its playlist would be roughly half as long with the same amount of server space. KJAH aims to keep its playlists around 24 hours or longer, which due to cost, would not be possible with a higher bandwidth broadcast. Another consideration of the current 32kbps broadcast is piracy. One of the main goals of KJAH is to bring reggae music to a wider listening audience. In particular, the station aims to educate and inform the masses about independent artists and musicians, and to share roots music that has never received proper airplay or recognition. In a time of increasing musical piracy via the internet and electronic file sharing, KJAH strives to encourage its listeners to support reggae musicians and artists by actually buying their albums. By broadcasting at 32kbps, the station can serve as a medium for listeners to learn about new artists and albums while still offering an incentive to buy their music and experience it in CD quality.
How Can I get my music on KJAH Reggae Radio?
KJAH does accept musical submissions for airplay consideration. If you are an independent reggae artist or musician, or a band manager or representative and would like to make a submission, send your submissions to the address below. You may also contact KJAH by selecting "contact" in the main menu. KJAH is a powerful promotional tool with a worldwide listener base. Unlike traditional radio, KJAH listeners can see artist/track/album information as a song plays, so they always know who they're listening to. The live365 player also features a "buy it now" button that links to major online music stores like amazon.com. If your music is available through these online stores; listeners can instantly purchase your album. Submitting music to KJAH, however, does not guarantee that it will receive airplay. KJAH maintains the exclusive right to determine what will be played on the station. Submissions that are accepted will not necessarily always be in the current playlist--as music is constantly added and removed. Rather, accepted submissions are added to the KJAH archives and included in the track rotation. You may wish to send sample mp3's via email prior to sending albums or promo packages, to assess if your material will receive airplay. Submitted albums will not be returned.

Drum machines--I personally feel this is one of the worst things to happen to reggae. Not that I won't and do not play songs with drum machines in them, there are exceptions, but I am personally not a fan. If you're not a prodigy with a drum machine(in terms of skill, creativity and tone), reconsider submitting your songs arranged over drum machines.
