Here are some of the latest updates from Peaks and Valleys Productions:
-As many of you know, our internet radio station KJAH Reggae Radio broadcasts roots music 24/7 and has grown to one of the most popular on the net. HOWEVER! The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 2007 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!) If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. Internet radio needs your help. Take action now if you don't want net radio to become the same homogenized mass marketed stuff you hear on terrestrial radio. Please log onto http://live365.com for more info and to learn how you can help save internet radio!
-For the time being (please read above) KJAH Reggae Radio is running 24/7 playing classic and rare roots reggae as well as exclusive tracks from the Peaks and Valleys Studio. It's free to listen, so check it out while you surf the web: http://live365.com/stations/jahsoldier
-Look for a new album coming from Elijah Emanuel in summer of 2007! The album is entering the mixing stages. Check out the pre-release ad below. More details TBA.
-New York's WBAI 99.5 FM radio station recently did a five hour special on Elijah Emanuel and The Revelations showcasing rare recordings and a lengthy interview. Anyone who is inspired by Elijah or his music will appreciate this insightful special. Here is the link: http://archive.wbai.org/pls.php?mp3fil=9864
-Elijah Emanuel's groundbreaking "Persistence of Vision" album has been re-printed in a Jewel Case format and is now available for the first time online. You can sample and purchase the album right here on the site. This is Elijah's second album, and features members of The Devastators and many of the same musicians who performed on their "Frontline" album.
-The Devastators second album "Better Days" is nearing completion. Following suit from their debut album "Frontline," the new album will feature all original music and additional dub versions. We are pushing for a Summer '07 release date! More info TBA on http://thedevastators.com or http://peaksandvalleysproductions.com
-New live tracks have been posted on http://thedevastators.com under the "Music" section. We have been recording many of our live shows and will be posting additional live material regularly.
-You can now have The Devastators on your video ipod or other portable media player. The Devastators were recently filmed by San Diego Music Scout during a performance at San Diego's 710 Beach Club and one of the tracks is available for free download. The song is entitled "Torture" and is one of the songs from the new upcoming album. No ipod? You can also download the video to your computer and watch in itunes. Filmed in High Definition, this is some great footage. Here is the link: http://www.blubrry.com/programs/1663/localmusicsandiegoscene/88079/sdms-exclusives-the-devastators/
-Former local SD reggae outfit "Shocks of Mighty" have release their first album under their new name and lineup. Now using the name Raiz Muzik, their debut album "Reelection" is also available on our site for preview and purchase. The album features the Big Mountain horn section and guest players like Arturo Salido (B-side Players) and yours truly on several tracks.
-Look for a massive update to the Peaks and Valleys Productions website coming soon.
